The chances of getting good weather in the alps is getting quite slim now, but now with a proper full waterproof jacket it doesnt bother me as much anymore. This landscape for some reason made me think of Scotland. Ive never been there, but photos ive seen have the same colours, craggy rocks, mud etc, minus the gigantic mountains though of course. On a clear day this view would be stunning, those mountains in the fog rise above 3000m.
Interesting comment about the Scottish highlands. I can see what you are talking about. However, the heather and bracken give the highlands more colour than this dun, brown mud look. The croft houses are fewer, smaller and whiter also. Moors and peat-bogs and/or lochs might also appear. These mountains are much bigger and less rounded in most cases. But, yes, similar. Does it make you want to “do” the highlands some day?
